Lloyd Harbor is a tranquil seaside village on the Gold Coast of Long Island's North Shore, about an hour east of New York City. Residents enjoy the best of both worlds as a suburb of New York City with all the amenities of a small town. Known for its beautiful parks and beaches, quality schools, and commuter-friendly location, the village is home to about 3,400 people. A number that hasn't changed much since 1970.
Lloyd Harbor is made up of six neighborhoods: Lloyd Neck, West Neck, South Beach, The Hollows, Center Island, and Caumsett. The village is situated on Lloyd Neck, a peninsula jutting out into Long Island Sound. It is bordered by the towns of Huntington to the west and Smithtown to the east.
Local residents have an easy commute to and from the Big Apple with the option of driving via I-495 or taking an hourly MTA train operated by the Long Island Railroad from New York Penn Station to Cold Spring Harbor.
Lloyd Harbor is an affluent and conservative community with a small-town feel. The village has its own police and fire departments as well as a public library. Sagamore Hill National Historic Park was the home of President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt and served as his Summer White House. The home and lands are now a museum and National Park.

There are plenty of things to do in Lloyd Harbor, including golfing at one of the many private clubs. Cold Spring Country Club is a beautiful private club with an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.
At Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, Lloyd Harbor residents enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking its paths in the dry seasons. The preserve covers 1,750-acres and contains a salt marsh, gardens, woodlands, and a shoreline where you can enter the water to scuba dive.
Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge is a favorite spot for fishing in Lloyd Harbor. The Wildlife Refuge has several ponds and wetlands teaming with local wildlife spanning over the 80-acre refuge.
Lloyd Harbor village is home to some of the best schools on Long Island. The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District serves the community and consistently ranks among the top school districts in New York State.
